Dentures & Partial Dentures

When your smile is missing multiple teeth, it can have a significant impact on your physical and emotional health. For centuries, dentures have served as the tried-and-true option for tooth replacement, and modern dental advances ensure that they are the best they’ve ever been in fit and function.

Dr. Peter L. DeSciscio and his team at Amboy Dental Arts provide comfortable custom-fit full and partial dentures to residents across Amboy and the surrounding communities. If you have considered dentures for tooth replacement, or are dissatisfied with the fit of your current dentures, contact our office today.

Custom-Crafted Dentures for Your Optimal Dental Health

Dentures of the past were often one-size-fits-all, each pair identical to the next. Today, we know that each mouth has its own unique needs and quirks, and requires an individual approach when creating the right pair of dentures.

Our office takes expert impressions of your mouth to create dentures that fit comfortably and naturally in your mouth. Not only does this provide a more secure fit, but it improves both function and appearance of the dentures. Furthermore, we work to make the dentures appear lifelike and well-suited to your features.

Complete or Partial Dentures – Which is Your Best Fit?

Dentures come in two types: full dentures, which replace all teeth in an arch; and partial dentures, which replace a group of missing teeth and are anchored onto the remaining healthy teeth. Which type is best for you will depend on how many teeth you have left, where they are placed, and how healthy they are.

If you are only missing a few teeth, such as the posterior molars, a partial denture can be anchored onto the teeth in front and provide a functioning replacement. If you have four or fewer teeth remaining, however, partial dentures may be difficult to place around them.

When you come in for a consultation, Dr. DeSciscio will evaluate your teeth for dentures. He will consider whether the teeth are healthy, how long they are likely to last, and if they are in a viable position to hold partial dentures in place. If the teeth are unhealthy, or awkwardly placed, he may discuss having them extracted to make room for full dentures instead. Dr. DeSciscio is always careful to consider the best overall needs of the patient, and will gladly address any questions or concerns you may have about the process.
